Description: Community effort, self published historical, 400 page coffee table style book with articles written, photographs and artwork submitted by over 35 Scarborough residents; historical check by local Scarborough historian, Rodney Laughton; edited by former resident Susan Dudley Gold.

Parade

Description - Parade winds its way from Scarborough Library to Route 114 turning onto Route One and ends when it reaches Memorial Park. The streets will be lined with people. The theme for the parade is Scarborough at 350: linking the past to the present. Neighborhood, non-profit and business floats will be the favorites and all will win prizes. Sponsor will have a parade banner which may be carried by corporate employees in corporate clothing. Sponsors will be involved in determining the prizes for each of the winning floats.

Movies in the Park

Description – Memorial Park, the site of the major festivities of the celebration was once a Drive-In theater. For many Scarborough residents and long time southern Mainers this was a local landmark. Reviving movies in this park will bring back nostalgic memories for many local folks and provide an opportunity for people to enjoy a night out in Maine in the Summer.

All Class Reunion

Desired Sponsorship: $5000
Description: A group of dedicated Scarborough High School Alumni wish to present an All Class Reunion during the 350th Celebration. The event is scheduled for Friday night, July 11, 2008 and will include Decade Registration and tours of the “new” High School. Many classes have graduated from this site, but it has been updated a variety of times over the years. This sponsorship will include mailings to all known alumni with corporate information,signage and visibility during the event. There will be a drive to increase the Alumni Organization membership by the usage of an online database.

Lobster Bake

Desired Sponsorship: $5000 or In Kind
Description: A traditional lobster bake in the park. This sponsorship would help to offset the high cost of the bake for all attendees in order to boost attendance and participation in this event. Sponsor would receive acknowledgements throughout the event with signage and the ability to use appropriate sponsor logo items.

Historic Art Map

Desired Sponsorship - $4000
Description – cover the cost of limited edition, collector quality, signed copies of historic map, artwork done by Deb Merrill. Sponsorship would include acknowledgement with the map on the web site as well as in dedicated sponsor section.

Block Party

Description: Runs from 8:00 - 10:00 PM Friday night in the park. It is MC'd and fueled by a DJ spinning discs. Lots of group dancing - "Electric Slide" etc. This is a popular multi-generation event that many view as a reunion party to gather and celebrate. It will be held in conjunction with the Scarborough High School All Class Reunion and the Movies in the Park.

Entertainment Tent

Description - Entertainment at Memorial Park will be held all weekend long. This sponsorship is for the Tent. This sponsorship includes the opportunity to have appropriate sponsor signage throughout the weekend as well as introducing the entertainers who will perform. This does not include sponsorship of the Symphony performance unless specifically designed to incorporate that event.

Food Tent

Description - The tent will be placed in Memorial Park and will be a major hub of activity. Entertainment will be held on one end of the tent throughout the weekend and tables and chairs will be set up for people to sit and relax and enjoy the food from the vendors.

Historical Craft Show

Desired Sponsorship - $2000
Description – Help bring historical artisans to the Historical Village where they would be able to demonstrate the arts of spinning, looming, weaving, blacksmithing, quilting and more. This would be an opportunity to educate today’s generation about nearly lost craftsmanship.

Civil War Encampment
Current Sponsor: Sponsored by Saco and Biddeford Savings Bank
Desired Sponsorship: $1500
Description: Civil War museum quality encampment for the weekend. Sponsor would have visibility the entire weekend with a dedicated Civil War troop encamped at Memorial Field from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon.

Performances by Regional Entertainers are available to sponsor individually. The cost for these sponsorship opportunities range from $500 - $2000 depending on the cost of the performance. A list of confirmed entertainers will be available by April 15. Several entertainers have expressed an interest in participating in this celebration and all will be available to sponsor. Recommendations are welcome as well.

Traditional 5K Run

Description – Traditional Summerfest run enjoyed by many locals.

Trolley Tours

Desired Sponsorship – In Kind Trolley services or necessary funds to cover Trolley tours for the weekend
Description – Horse drawn Trolley Saturday and Sunday between Memeorial Park and the Sports Complex.
