The Eastern Trail in Scarborough is part of an inter-urban system stretching from South Portland to Kittery, and eventually to Key West, Florida. The Town is continuing to work on extending the Scarborough portion across the Nonesuch River.

Attention now turns to a 0.8-mile section in Scarborough that will include a bridge to span the Nonesuch river – already in the planning stages – and connect to the southern York County communities through which the trail will be developed, including Wells, Eliot, Kittery, and the Berwicks.
