INTRODUCTION
The Scarborough Planning Board reviews new residential, commercial and industrial development, as well as in many cases the redevelopment of existing uses, in accordance with the Site Plan Review and Subdivision Review Ordinances. Further, when amendments to land use regulations are proposed to the Town Council, the Planning Board reviews the amendments, conducts a public hearing and makes recommendations to the Town Council regarding these regulations. The Planning Board also plays an integral role in the review and approval of Contract Zones. The Planning Board meets every three weeks in accordance with a yearly schedule.
Planning Board members are appointed by the Town Council and have three year terms.
