Vacancies         Due to the upcoming summer season, we will be primarily seeking individuals interested in working bicycle patrol at the town beaches from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Memorial Day to Labor Day / weekdays and weekends).  While beach officers are primarily tasked with the enforcement of parking violations, they also provide a uniformed presence to aid with community concerns and minor traffic offenses.  In addition to beach patrol, reserve officers may be called upon to work scheduled events and specialty assignments on a rotating basis.  These details are most prevalent during the summer months and reserves are encouraged to ride as second officers in the patrol cars to better familiarize themselves with patrol activities.

Training          Officers are required to attain 40 hours of approved training in a two-year period.  Training blocks that consist of a full 40-hour week are offered twice annually, in addition to monthly training sessions provided during the off-peak season (October to May). Visit Maine Criminal Justice Academy site.
