Pine Point and Blue Point

A neighborhood meeting was held on Thursday, July 18th at the Blue Point School. Participants shared their visions of the future. The following notes summarize their vision.

Participants identified their favorite places on Pine Point and Blue Point. The beaches, marsh, and other water access points were often mentioned, as were the wildlife sanctuary and recreation fields. See the map at right for more details.

- Potential fatality from traffic -- semi trucks, motorcycles, especially on Jones Creek and King -- should consider creating a one-way street system
- Traffic from both week-long tourists and day trippers
- Loud motorcycles
- Dunstan congestion
- Pathway to Old Orchard Beach
- Over development
- School overcrowding
- Losing historic markers, identity
- Balance fishing with year-round tourism
- Senior center
- Branch library
