West Scarborough

A neighborhood meeting was held on Tuesday, July 16th at the Beech Ridge Farm.  Participants shared their visions of the future.  The following notes summarize their vision.   Participants identified their favorite places in West Scarborough.  Some favorite places, like trails and forests, were spread across West Scarborough.  Others were specific sites, for example the Beech Ridge Speedway or the church in West Scarborough.  Click on the map to the right for more detail.   • Rural character maintained
  • Controlled growth -- keep rural appearance
  • Safety services (fire/rescue/police) equal to other parts of town
  • Open land for recreation including ball fields & activities for children within 5 minute drive
  • Public water and sewer
  • Hunting by permission
  • Preserve open space
  • Trails -- bike lanes (reconstruct/preserve)
